Nearly 10,000 children enrolled in Houston area schools identify as homeless while still showing up every day and focusing on their education. That is the problem Some Charity exists to help solve.
Imagine waking up, throwing on your clothes, stopping to grab your morning coffee, pulling into the gas station to fill your tank, enjoying a great lunch during your break, and coming home to cook dinner made from groceries you purchased on the way home.
Not hard to imagine, right? It is the life we already live.
Now imagine if all of those everyday necessities were competitively priced, or even cheaper when possible, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity.
Sounds pretty good, right?
Now imagine knowing that by simply living your life and purchasing the things you already need, you are helping restore someone else's. Imagine knowing that your coffee helped keep a family in their home. Your lunch helped provide financial literacy classes to a parent. Your groceries helped connect a struggling family with mental health services and recovery resources. Your purchase became someone else's opportunity.
That is the future Some Charity envisions.
Our goal is to tackle homelessness from every angle. First, we meet the immediate need: a safe place to sleep. Right now, our target is simple. Cover a family's rent for an entire year while helping them build a foundation for lasting stability.
During that year, we will connect families with mental health services when needed, provide access to sobriety and recovery resources, offer financial literacy education, and equip parents with the knowledge, tools, and support necessary to attain meaningful employment.
This is about more than helping someone out of a pit. It is about teaching them how to walk again. How to lead their family well. How to build a future that begins today.
Today, Some Charity begins as an online store designed to generate capital for what comes next. Tomorrow, that vision expands into coffee shops, mobile food units, restaurants, grocery stores, and gas stations. Every business will be competitively priced because doing good should never cost more.
Everything exists for one simple purpose: restoring families and rebuilding communities.
In most cases, 65 percent of net profits, after responsible and sustainable business practices, operating expenses, taxes, and reserves, will go directly toward that mission. The remaining profits will be reinvested into growing the businesses that make the mission possible.
I am not building this to become wealthy. If necessary, I am willing to sacrifice the life society calls normal or comfortable if it means communities can be healed and families can be restored.
I am not the owner of this vision. I am merely its steward.
Some Charity is not about charity as the world has come to define it. It is about creating a world where helping others is built into the ordinary things we already do every single day. One purchase. One family. One community at a time.
This is the future the world needs
